Your Orrery

Use the links below to better understand your orrery. It isn't a perfect model and has some limitations which you need to learn as well.

You need to be able to demonstrate the following celestial events:

a day (1 rotation of the earth)

a month (1 revolution of the moon around the earth)

a year (1 revolution of the earth around the sun)

There are 4 key position as the earth revolves around the sun; they are the equinoxes and solstices.
Equinox means equal night - day and night are equally long.
Solstices are events when the sun appears to be the highest or lowest in the sky.
