Topic 4: What is Colour?

Big Idea:

Light from the sun is white, not yellow. White light is made up of red, orange, yellow, blue, indigo and violet (ROYGBIV).

The demonstration shows that different materials can cause the white light to separate out into the colours that make it up. To make a rainbow, you need three things: SUNLIGHT, A SURFACE (like a water drop) and YOU.

What connections can you make to a variety of things that causes the light to REFRACT and cause a rainbow?
